Established in Central London, the Rotary Club of Mayfair is an AI-first Rotary club. We bridge global service, human fellowship, and technological stewardship to champion ethical AI.
Watch key highlights and explore the core case studies discussed at our landmark launch event. Learn why physical, software, and human integrity represent the new boundaries of responsible technology.
A harrowing hardware attack where malicious actors poisoned physical distribution systems. Explosives were embedded directly into shipped communication pagers before they reached their end destination.
How a stealthy, multi-year social engineering effort by a pseudonymous open-source maintainer almost backdoored SSH encryption across a quarter of the globe's Linux servers, which forms the backbone of the internet.
A stunning demonstration of synthetic audio and video generation where bad actors set up a fake video call, deepfaking a corporate CFO and multiple colleagues. They tricked a UK-based finance employee into transferring $25M.
Hackers infiltrated a high-profile casino's network and exfiltrated millions in database records. They bypassed firewalls by exploiting a smart, Wi-Fi-enabled thermometer in a lobby fish tank.
Rotary International’s iconic ethical guide, adapted for the age of algorithms. Our members use this four-way framework to evaluate and guide AI deployment and governance.
Does the AI system use validated, high-quality data? Are its outputs reliable, and do we prevent hallucinations and deepfakes that distort truth?
Does the AI system avoid promoting algorithmic bias? Is access to these tools equitable, or does it leave vulnerable communities behind?
Does the deployment of this technology bring communities together, foster international collaboration, and support mutual human fellowship?
Is the AI aligned with human values? Does its implementation improve lives, boost safety, and provide global positive service?
For nearly a decade, the Rotary Club of Mayfair has brought together international professionals in Central London. Read our official history narrative below.
We are living through a unique inflection point in human history. With the rise of artificial intelligence, individual builders and solopreneurs have more leverage than ever before. But with this power comes a profound responsibility to protect human integrity, security, and digital trust.
The Rotary Club of Mayfair was founded in May 2017, receiving its official charter from District Governor Helen Antoniou at the Imperial Hotel in Central London under our inaugural President Christoph von Luttitz. From our inception, we set out to bridge fellowship, professional excellence, and community service.
Over the years, we have launched numerous initiatives to drive local and digital impact. We hosted the landmark Rotary Mayfair Hackathon at the UCL Institute of Education in partnership with the non-profit Generating Genius, bringing together university students from diverse STEM backgrounds to tackle real-world problems.
We also created Project Kind Winter to support Central London's homelessness initiatives, distributing essential survival kits, food, and thermal clothing to vulnerable individuals during the freezing winter months.
Today, we are taking our next step. As an AI-first club, we are aligning Rotary's traditional service values with the challenges of the digital frontier. Our technology speaker series has hosted experts like Glen Slade (CEO of Zyzzle) speaking on using AI-driven automated identification systems to track and manage insect populations ecologically. Guided by our AI Four-Way Test, we advocate for ethical algorithms, security, and digital equity.
The Rotary Club of Mayfair is governed by our Club Council. We operate under a flexible hybrid model that respects the schedules of busy professionals.
Formal meetings are held once a month and are hybrid in nature. Members and guests join online via Youtube or in-person at our Central London venue.
